Marita Adair is an expert on Mexico travel having traveled extensively in the country for 20 years and authored seven guidebooks to the country. Mexico is both her life's work and her daily pleasure. She spends several months there annually traveling all over the country.

| Areas of specialist knowledge |
All of Mexico has been my travel terrain and I know the country from top to bottom. Special pleasure comes from Colonial villages, folk art and artisans, and festivals everywhere.
Collecting folk art is such a passion that I journey to the most remote villages to find folk art at its source. I've honed skills for hauling it all home and regularly help others to do the same.
But I wear my Mexico food stains most proudly.Through food I've uncovered another world of experience and people that I would not have known otherwise. Every glorious stain recalls a fond memory of dining, cooks, and cooking lessons in Mexico, and attempting their magical brews at home. Ths passion led to writing The Hungry Traveler Mexico: A Menu Translator & Food Guide
|
Mexico's travel industry presented me with $25,000 for 11 articles appearing in 22 publications during their Concurso Internacional. I'm also a recipient of the coveted Lowell Thomas Award for Best Single Color Photograph.
A wealth of Mexico-specific food terms and descriptions is the focus of The Hungry Traveler: Mexico, A Menu Translator and Food Guide, published by Andrews McMeel. Though conveniently pocket-sized, it's 211 pages are packed with food information, experiences, and tips only one with years of deep Mexico travel knowledge could provide.
For Macmillan, I authored six Frommer's Mexico guidebooks for eight years, and covered thousands of kilometers of food ground in the process.
Stock Photo Library
My transparency library holds thousands of photographs based on travels primarily in Mexico, and include many colorful ones of Mexican markets and festivals.
